Manchester is the United Kingdom’s third biggest city but it’s considered by many as the second most important city in British soil. With a population of around half a million people and being a major hub for British music, culture and the arts, it’s a city always busy with life. Whether you’re moving because of work, to go to school or just because you’re looking for a change in scenery, the City of Manchester is a great place to live in.

Since it’s such a big city, there’s a big real estate market in place. So when looking for homes for sale Manchester is an excellent place – it’ll be more of a question of picking where to move. If you choose to live in the center of town, Deansgate Locks, Castlefield and The Ropeworks are considered the best areas, although, of course, good homes can be found anywhere. If you plan to move outside of town and you either don’t own a car or you don’t want to drive it every day, you’ll be glad to know that Manchester has an amazing public transport system, complete with trains, buses – including a few zero fare buses – and a light rail tram system, which was actually the first one to be built in the United Kingdom.
